Why??

Why is it that when you think your kids should be getting it and understanding what you mean, they throw a tantrum that lasts for an hour and you don't understand why! Last night Ethan was warned that if he didn't pick up his toys he would go to bed immediately and loose all the toys not picked up. He then laid on the floor and rolled around slowly picking up one tiny toy at a time. Then he stood up and instead of picking up faster danced around picking up toys a little at a time. We asked him to move faster and not to dance but he didn't and when we told him it was bedtime he threw a fit that lasted longer than most of his usual ones. I don't know exactly why this happened I just know that it drove me nuts and really bothered Cayden who stood at the bedroom door whining to be let in to see Ethan who was screaming. Who knows but I had to get it all out!
