Hello everyone! Well, we are all safe and fine with

little to no damage done to us or the house! I will say that it was a crazy day yesterday and I'm glad it's done for now. So, here's how my day went yesterday!
I was planning a Scentsy Party for all my neighbors so I was going to go out to do errands and pick up a few things. I had put Maryn in the car and Ethan was getting ready to go to the bus stop when it started hailing. It wasn't too bad so we sat and watched it from the garage. It looked like it was going to slow down after a while but it didn't so we closed the garage and headed back

inside. We have had water come in the basement one other time so we headed downstairs to check on how the basement was doing. Well, it wasn't a pretty sight! I set Maryn down and ran up stairs for as many towels as I could carry. We ended up using all the towels in the hall closet to kind of corral the water so it

didn't

soak any more of our boxes and other stuff down there. The one picture is of a hailstone hitting the water! The whole time we were doing this we were hearing VERY large hail hit the roof and car and everything around us. It was a little scary and completely crazy. We ended up staying in the basement until it slowed down.
When it finally quit hailing we went outside to survey the damage. Let's just say, I was slipping on all the little hail stones that were all over the ground! It looked like it had been snowing! Not exactly what you'd like to see in May! The Saturn had been sitting out in the driveway and

thankfully it didn't break or crack the windshield or any other windows. We do have quite a few big dents though and tons of little ones all over the car. Neighbors all around have cracked and broken windows. Some have holes where the hailstone just went right through the glass. It's really wild! Our poor little tree was finally looking good and getting lots of leaves but it had a little 'hair cut'. Our grass also looks like it was airated because of all the little divets that are there.
I ended up driving Ethan over to his school just to find out they were going into lockdown because of

the tornado warning and they recommended I just take him back home so we did. We headed up to Loveland for dinner and to stop at Walmart to get some lanterns. We realized how very unprepared we were. We had no candles and only could find one flashlight that was almost out of batteries so we had to go get something. We decided we'd wait it out at our house so we slept here last night and thankfully the power came on this morning about 5am or so. It was nice to wake up and know that you could go open the fridge and freezer without worrying about it loosing cold air and the food spoiling!
So, here are the pictures from our eventful Thursday!

This is our backyard.

Don't you like all the layers to the hailstones!
This is the reason our basement started flooding! It's a huge puddle there!
Ethan and Cayden had fun picking up the hailstones and playing outside after it was all through. Cayden did loose a flip-flop when he accidentally stepped in the puddle in our yard! It was pretty cold water but he survived!!

That is so crazy, I am glad you guys are okay....your puddle pictures didn't come through! As for the water in the basement.....welcome to home ownership....what a pain! Cool hailstone!
WOW! I was thinking about you guys the whole time I was watching the news. But we dont have your new number. You should email it to me. OH and your address. And I was thinking about having a Scentsy party once kids are back in school, after all the crazy summer plans have gone through. Whatta ya say?
Wow! I don't think I've ever seen hail that big before. Those pictures of your basement brought back memories (and not good ones). When we first moved into our house the basement flooded every time it rained. The rain gutter we had along the back of the house only went halfway across. So, when we finally got around to extending it all the way - the flooding problem stopped. If we knew the fix would have been that easy we would have done it sooner!
I'm glad that all of you guys up there are okay. That was such a crazy thing! Miracles happen, don't they?
How scary! Glad you guys are safe though!
