OH my goodness! Yesterday was the first day of school for both Ethan and Cayden! Ethan started the first grade and enjoyed his first day. He told me he likes his teacher Mrs. Pate and also said it was hard to be there the whole day. He's glad that his friend Kyle is in his class but thankfully they don't sit next to each other. That could cause some problems!!!
Cayden had his first day of preschool with our friend and neighbor Mrs. Sheila! He wasn't too excited until the morning of, then he was still a little nervous about it until we opened the door and he saw a huge pile of wooden blocks. It also helped that there quite a few kids that he knows from nursery there too. I think the hardest thing for Cayden is waiting for Ethan to get home in the afternoon. He was very bored and a little grumpy until Ethan got home. We'll see how today goes because he is home all day with just me and Maryn and I don't think we're as much fun as Ethan!
Here are a few of the pictures we took before Ethan got on the bus which is about an hour before Cayden goes to school. You can tell how excited Cayden was by the pictures!
I really enjoyed the morning with only one kid, I didn't get as much done as I thought I would but it was nice to have a quiet house. It's very different having Ethan gone all day. We are going to need time to adjust. Both boys were quite tired yesterday night but they still had a hard time going to sleep and were hard to get up this morning. Hopefully we will get a good schedule worked out and everyone (including mom and dad!) will get more sleep!!!
These are from yesterday afternoon while we were patiently (more like unpatiently) waiting for Ethan to get home from school!

Love the pics.........I especially like Cayden being a goofball! Too funny. Looks like your gate is also working out well.
How fun! I can't wait 'til my girls start school next week! Yeah! I'm glad you reminded me of the whole "tiredness" thing - I had forgotten. Last year Sadie's teacher told us to make sure she got extra sleep 'cause all the kids get so exhausted the first week or so as they adjust to the new schedule. Makes sense - they're on sensory overload!
