Ok, so I'm a little crazy and preoccupied with this caterpillar but this is too cool! So, on the back of the caterpillar there is a little line, straight up the back. Well, I was watching it and this line moves up the back, all the way to the head! It's kind of like a pulse! I've never noticed that before on any caterpillars. Ok, so maybe that's because I have never really been so interested in one before. I know we hatched a monarch once when I was a kid but I don't remember anything other than when we released it so this is all new and exciting now! Oh and tonight it began making its chrysilis! It should be finished soon! I also read tonight that we might have to wait all winter for it to come out as a swallowtail butterfly. It's a bummer but that's what happens when it is the beginning of fall and this caterpillar is just now getting ready to turn into a butterfly! Anyway, enough of my crazy rambling, enjoy the crazy caterpillar!

That's one funky looking caterpillar Jeni! It'll be interesting to see what it looks like as a butterfly.
