This past weekend has to be one of the oddest ones we've had in a while. Travis, Maryn and I flew to Phoenix EARLY Friday morning and we left Ethan and Cayden with Travis' parents Pat and Gail for the weekend. Travis and I were off on a house hunting trip. This just happened to be the only weekend that we could do it without having to take the boys. Our flight got in around 8am in Phoenix so it was nice and early. By lunch we'd visited his office and I finally got to meet his boss, not to mention his bosses boss and a few other co workers. We then met with our realtor and headed out to look at houses. Our realtor wasn't really familiar with the Maricopa area which is where we were looking for homes but was quite impressed at the growth that had happened since the last time she'd been there. We looked at 6 or 7 houses on Friday and had quite a few options. Unfortunately the favorite went under contract by later that night so we met again Saturday morning for some more looking. We went to another 5 houses Saturday morning. The first one we saw that morning ended up being the one we put an offer in on. We should hopefully find out by this afternoon if they accepted the offer. Although the house wasn't as big as some of the others that we saw, it is move-in ready which is what I am wanting! It is almost 2400 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 half baths with a 2 car garage. There are no basements in Arizona because of the hard rock ground out there. Thankfully the people who had this one before knew how to maximize their storage space and have already installed shelves in the garage as well as under the stairs for the pantry and other storage. The back yard is beautiful and fully landscaped which is great because that is a very hard thing for us to do. The neighborhood is nice and there is a HUGE open grass field and a small playground just down the street!
While Travis, Maryn and I were house hunting in Phoenix Ethan and Cayden were having a blast with Nana and Papa. They went Mini golfing on Friday! Cayden didn't really want to go at first but had a great time and didn't want to leave when they were done. On Saturday Nana and Papa drove up to Johnstown for Cayden's first soccer game and pictures. It wasn't very successful but it was still fun. A lot of the kids didn't want to play because they were hungry or tired and Cayden was one of them. I'm not so sure that 12:30 on Saturday is a great time for 3 and 4 year olds to be playing soccer. Saturday afternoon Missy and her kids came to Nana and Papa's house to color eggs and play. They had a great time and made some beautiful eggs. Sunday morning the Easter bunny made a stop and the boys were thrilled with their baskets. The really loved the kites the Easter bunny left for them. Then they went to church with Nana and Papa.
Trav, Maryn and I got back while they were at church and had dinner just about ready when they got home. It was a crazy weekend and unfortunately because we were house hunting, I didn't take any pictures except the ones of houses. I will get some pictures from Nana and Papa if they took any and post them but if not, you'll just have to imagine what the weekend brought! Oh and I promise I'll post pictures of the house soon. I'm just waiting to know what's happening before we post pictures!
