They made an early entrance!!!

So, the C-section was all scheduled. July 7th was the date! The girls did not agree on that date! I started having contractions Saturday night (the 20th). Mostly during the night and not enough to really keep me from sleeping. I didn't think too much of it then but enough to tell Travis that we should probably skip Stake Conference. He was fine with that and we took it nice and easy all day. I still tried to do as much for him as I could it being Father's Day and all but mostly we just hung out and watched movies and such. By around lunch time I was having contractions, not really regularly but about 3 or 4 an hour. My instructions from the doctor was to call them when I had 6 or more per hour so I just took it easy. Around dinner time they were about 5 every hour sometimes 6 and more uncomfortable. They still weren't very regular but I called the doctor anyway. Of course, me being the mom I am made sure everyone got dinner first and then I talked to the doctor. She figured we'd better get in to get checked and if I was in labor, just have these babies!I immediately got on the phone to find someone who could stay with the kids while we left. Thankfully the Bishop's wife Suzie was willing and able to come and stay with the kids. By the time she got to our house all the kids were at least ready for bed. We were able to get Maryn to sleep before we left and the boys ready so they hardly knew we were gone.
By the time we got to the hospital I was pretty uncomfortable but still doing pretty well with the contractions. Surprisingly enough to me and Travis, when we got to the hospital and all checked in I was almost fully dialated! Now, I was in complete shock because I've never gone into labor on my own and to make it all the way without any pain medication was just amazing to me! When they checked me they were not feeling a breech baby and thought that Baby A had turned and was head down. She was breech on Friday when we had our most recent ultrasound so they brought in an ultrasound machine to check. That one didn't work so they moved me back to the operating room to use the one there and get ready for delivery. They finally found an ultrasound machine that worked properly and found that she hadn't turned and instead of her butt being down, she was transverse and they were feeling her spine! Silly girl just had to have it her way.
So, they prepped me and got me ready for the C-section! Thankfully the epidural was wonderful and by that time I was nice and comfortable and not having any pain!!!
These babies were almost a Father's Day gift for Travis but we had to wait for the surgical assistant to come from his house so they were born just after midnight! Ashlynn made her appearance at 12:07am and Gwendolyn mad her appearance at 12:11am! They were both transverse and required a little manuvering to get them out!
Ashlynn Jean weighed in at 5lbs 7oz and 18 1/2 inches long and Gwendolyn Gail weighed in at 5lbs 4oz and 18 1/2 inches long. Both wonderful size and completely healthy!!
We forgot to charge the camera battery and actually left it in the room when we went to deliver so the pictures we have are on Trav's phone. I don't know how to get them from the phone to the computer so as soon as he shows me how or does it himself I will post those pictures. I took a bunch of pictures while I was in the hospital but those too are on the phone and I'm not sure how to move them. I promise that I will put pictures up as soon as I can. As for now, here is the only picture I have of them on the computer! They love being close together and thankfully sleep wonderfully!

Love it! Thanks for the update and I'm glad you felt so good through the contractions. I'm glad everything went fine and that they are so healthy and doing well. What a great thing! Makes me want twin girls - but I'd settle for a girl and a boy - we need a second boy (I think). Maybe later! Keep posting pictures as they grow. I'm so happy for you guys!

YAY! they are so cute like that. I love it that they love to be next to each other. I secretly wish I would have twins, 2 in 1 pregnancy... I know, be careful for what you wish for. It may be the only way Matt will have 4 kids.
