A couple of weeks ago my dad, Val and Amber came to visit for the weekend! It was soooo great having them come down and the weather was perfect! We had fun just playing!
A couple of weeks before they came I had bought some fabric to re-cover the kitchen table chairs but I went cheap and the kids tore holes in it pretty quick! The night before the family arrived Cayden had gotten mad about me saying he needed to taste whatever we were having for dinner and he ripped the hole in his seat to twice the original size and all the foam and batting on the chair was uncovered. So Friday I went with the girls (Val, Amber, Maryn and the babies) to Joann's and picked up some heavy duty vinyl! Saturday morning we were having a "party" for Heritage Makers, Miche Bags and Scentsy which ended up being a flop so we did projects instead! I started to replace the cover on Cayden's chair first because Ashlynn had discovered it and was pulling the batting out every chance she could. My dad of course jumped in to help me with pulling some of the staples out and ended up taking over and re-covering all 5 of them! They look beautiful and I'm so happy to be able to finally wash off all the gunk my kids wipe on the seats!!! Thank you dad for your help!
Since Dad took over on the chairs I started Maryn's pillowcase dress! It's pretty simple and for my first one it turned out pretty well. Most pillowcase dresses just have a ribbon or draw-string ties to make it fit but I wanted real straps so I fiddled around and got them to work! She loves the dress and wears it all the time! Now to just get around to finishing the babies and another one for Maryn!!
We went and saw How to Train Your Dragon on Saturday afternoon and it was great! Amazingly enough the babies weren't too bad and Travis and I didn't really miss any of the movie! The kids loved it and it was fun to do something as a family!
I've tried to up-load pictures from the weekend but the picture uploader is having problems and I can't get them to load so here's a slideshow of the pictures!! Enjoy!
