So Lucky

 We were so lucky to spend the last half of last week with Grandpa Rich and then the weekend with him and Grandma Val!  Grandpa Rich came on Wednesday night with his wonderful canned pears, peaches, applesauce and apricot jam!  He also brought some pickles that he made and some pickled beets! (we still have to try them both!) He also brought a box of peaches that were WONDERFUL!!!!!  We didn't do anything major but we sure had fun just hanging out!  The boys still had school so most of the time it was just us girls hanging out with Grandpa!  Grandpa loved hanging out with the girls and even Gwen warmed up to him pretty quick!


Of course with the peaches Grandpa made a wonderful fresh peach pie and then made peach jam and canned it for me!  I'm such a lucky daughter!!!

On Friday night we all drove up to Scottsdale where Grandma Val had been having fun at her Heritage Makers Convention and played in the pool at the resort!  It was fun!  Ashlynn tried to drink a lot of water but was upset to get out.  Maryn is also the new surprise fish and was VERY upset when it was time to go get dinner.  Cayden loved that we were hanging out in a 3 feet deep area so he could stand up.  Ethan is in love with the snorkel and was swimming all over the place.  It was a lot of fun!!

We also celebrated Maryn's 3rd Birthday!  She requested a pink dinosaur cake and so that's what she got!  I was brave and tried fondant for the first time.  Not too bad but it will take some getting used to and a lot of practice to get it just right!
