U Build It

Friday night is pizza night and then we usually watch a movie but this past Friday we decided to play a game!  It's not often we can find a game that Ethan likes to play and Maryn understands too!  Technically the game we played was for ages 8 and up but we all had a great time!!!

We played U-Build-It Monopoly!

The rules are similar to regular monopoly but there are a few major differences!

You are given 3 choices of tracks you can play.  Starter, Classic and Pro.  The Pro track takes the longest (90 min) and is the most like the regular Monopoly.  Classic takes an average of an hour to play and the Starter takes about a half an hour!  We chose the Starter track so we could get the hang of it!

Travis and Maryn were teammates and I was teamed up with the crazy Cayden! :)

Maryn loved counting the money and paying for things!  A note about the money, it's in LARGE denominations.  When I say large, I'm not meaning thousands or hundred thousands, this goes up into the millions!  The largest denomination is 5 million, then 1 million then 500 thousand down to 10 thousand.  It was a little disconcerting to play with those large amounts!

They also have things like bonus buildings that protect the rent of the properties it's touching and hazards that cancel out the residential buildings on any property it touches.  The chances are bridges that move up and down and make it more fun to pass!

Cayden and I went bankrupt first so the game ended then.  Travis and Maryn trounced Ethan in the final money tally, even with Ethan owning more land!  They were thrilled!  We played again Saturday night and Travis won again with Cayden as his partner.  This time it was Ethan going bankrupt first!  

All in all, it was a fun night and the kids are just waiting until we have time to play the pro track with all of the properties!
