Ethan can!
Ethan won his school spelling bee and got to participate in the Leading Edge District Spelling Bee as well as the Pinal County spelling bee.
In the district spelling bee he got out on the word 'diaphanous' which I had never heard before! (oh and it was only the second round! Tough word!) His class mate came in second and he could spell all the words they had after his word! Oh well, that's how it works I guess!

In the County spelling bee he got out in the first round with 'kahuna' Not terribly hard but he thought it was a 'c' instead of a 'k'.
His friend Porter from church was also in the spelling bee and they got lucky because they drew numbers right after each other so he got to sit by a friend!

Oh, and if you're curious, Porter lasted a couple more rounds but got out on 'tuckahoe' which is an Algonquin word.
We are so proud of him! He did great for not really having time to focus on studying all the different words on the list.
